2007 Project Overview
Summer 2007 - Fall 2007:
Spectrum Subsea International provided Horizon Offshore Contractors of Houston, Texas back-to-back Ship Superintendents aboard the Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) & Survey Support Vessel, Sun New York. Ronald (Ron) Raymond and Mr. Chris Ordonez represented Horizon Offshore shore management at sea during the 5 month project contracted through Compass Personnel Services (CPS) of Katy, Texas. This project encompassed ROV post-installation inspection services provided by Canyon Offshore and Fugro Chance on local, state, and federal waters off the Atlantic Seaboard near Boston. Sixteen (16) miles of pipeline now connects a pre-existing LNG onshore hub-line to an offshore delivery station providing New England residents increased safety and security; natural gas product shall be handled and delivered from the offshore service hub when the system is commissioned.
The Northeast Gateway Project brings critical new infrastructure to Massachusetts and New England supporting increasing natural gas supply throughout the region. This project will do so in a way that helps to ensure reasonably priced and reliable energy supplies, and reduces the overall environmental impacts of energy supply and consumption within New England. The NEG Project allows the New England Region to increase its total imports of natural gas by up to 400 million cubic feet per day, which will come from a diverse set of international gas supply sources. This additional fuel supply will help sustain the operation of new, clean gas-fired electricity generation in the state and region.

In July, Mr. Raymond witnessed the offshore petrochemical industry meeting his subsea telecommunications past as he co-supervised the building of the NEG Pipeline System Bridge as it crossed over the Hibernia Transatlantic Fibre Optic Cable System of which he was an owner’s representative in 2001.

Fall 2006 - Summer 2007:
Our first half consulting projects were primarily with Tesla Offshore of Prairieville, LA to restore 2005 U.S. Gulf of Mexico hurricane damage; we were engaged in ROV, SATD and deep tow sidescan navigation operations. Project lengths ranged from a few days to several months, seeing service for Wild Well Control, Noble Energy, Chevron, and other clients managing Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) recovery from Hurricane Katrina, Rita and Ivan damage.
